汽水域資源解析部門
部門の概要
海水と淡水が流入している汽水域は、生活史の全部を汽水域で過ごす汽水性の生物遺伝資源に加えて、生活史の一部のみを汽水域で過ごす海産性と淡水性の異なる生物遺伝資源が混在しているホットスポットです。そのため、汽水域のみならず周辺水域の資源生産性の持続的かつ安定的な維持あるいは増進を目的として、汽水域に出現するユニークな生物遺伝資源の実態や変動、生産構造、進化放散、遺伝的多様性などを科学的に評価する研究に取り組んでいます。
Bioresource Management Division
The brackish region where seawater and freshwater flow in is a hot spot of biological genetic resources including not only estuarine organisms that spend all of the life history in brackish water but also marine and riverine organisms that spend a part of the life history there. In order to achieve stable and sustainable management/enhancement of the valuable brackish ecosystem, we are engaged to evaluate the current and future genetic diversities, reproductive and cycle structures, and evolutional and diffusional histories of estuarine, marine and riverine bioresources inhabiting brackish and surrounding waters by means of the advanced scientific techniques.
